Bonnie Parker was born as one of a set of triplets in El Paso, Texas. After attending public schools there she came to Houston to attend the University of Houston where she received a Bachelor of Arts in history with a minor in political science.
Bonnie grew up in a Republican household and has been a conservative activist in Harris County for thirty years, having attended numerous senatorial district and state conventions. She has worked in numerous campaigns including Presidential (’76,’88,’92), Senate (’08, ’12), Congress (’94, ’96,’98), Governor (’94), Texas Secretary of Agriculture (’98,’ ’04), State Senate (’02, ’06), and State House (’92, ’94, ’96,’10, ’12). She was a candidate for State Representative in the 2010 Republican Primary. She is pro-life. 
Bonnie is a certified secondary teacher able to teach social sciences (history, geography, government, and economics) and mathematics on the middle school level. She taught social sciences and mathematics for more than twenty-five years. Bonnie left teaching in 2006 as a result of her husband Bill's illness. He died in January 2007. They had been married for twenty-five years. They have two grown children, a daughter and son.
Since leaving education, Mrs. Parker has been involved in economic development in Eastern Uganda, Africa through the Ugandan nonprofit, Lodoi Development Fund. She is responsible for establishing Kanginima Financial Services, a nonprofit mobile money and microfinance institution which provides agri-business education and capital to village farmers. She is also an investor in Mamma'''"s Nutritional Supplement Limited which markets a high quality supplement to treat starvation and malnutrition.
Bonnie was reared attending church. She was extremely active along with her husband at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church; here she served as a Children’s Chapel Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Director, and Acolyte Director. She also was a member of the church vestry. After her husband’s death she found it difficult to remain at St. Mark’s. She now attends Bethel Bible Church.
In addition to her work in Africa and her church, Bonnie has coached YMCA soccer, judged for Odyssey of the Mind, and served on the Georgetown Square Townhouse Board of Directors and the Bellaire Recycling Committee. She is currently a member of the Harris County Republican Party Training and Development Committee. She gives regularly to her church, Lodoi, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the Leukemia Society. She is responsible for all the costs related to her trips to Uganda.
