Ann F. Hodge joined the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce as the President/CEO in May 1999. She has direct responsibility for the management and operation of the Chamber. Since she assumed her new role she has initiated numerous new programs to enhance the value of the membership in the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Hodge has aggressively assumed the challenge to grow the Chamber into a sound business organization. Her goals include enhanced membership services and insuring the entire business community is represented by the Chamber of Commerce. She is keenly aware of the challenges facing the community to maintain an outstanding quality of life as well as an excellent education system.
Prior to joining the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Hodge served as Divisional Vice President of External Affairs for Browning Ferris Industries, the world’s second largest solid waste disposal firm. Her responsibilities in the External Affairs arena included the development and implementation of the Company’s political and civic awareness programs, media relations, public relations and government relations with particular emphasis on legislative and regulatory relationships throughout the region. Ms. Hodge was with Browning Ferris Industries for 13 years.
Ms. Hodge served as the Chair of the Texas Workforce Investment Council for 8 years. She was originally appointed to the statewide board by Governor Ann Richards, re-appointed by then Governor George W. Bush and re-appointed by Governor Rick Perry. Prior to her service on that Council, she was appointed by Governor Bill Clements to the Texas Council on Vocational Education where she served as Chair. She served over 20 years on the Texas Workforce Investment Council, Texas Council on Workforce and Economic Competitiveness and the Texas Council on Vocational Education.
Additionally, Ann continues to serve on numerous national, regional and local organizations, including currently serving as a director of the Katy Performing Arts Society, Christ Health Clinic and the Texas Women’s Alliance. Ann also serves on the Texas Children’s Hospital (West Campus) Advisory Council and the ARC of Katy. She was recently elected to the CHRISTUS Health Gulf Coast Board of Directors.
Ms. Hodge is actively involved in state and local politics and various community and civic organizations. Ms. Hodge is married to Robert D. Hodge and they have one son, Richard D. Hodge and five grandchildren (Kelsey, Olivia, Michael, Kasey and Christian). They reside in Katy, Texas.
